Sharing God’s Promises with Preschoolers

It is our desire and goal to provide a clean safe environment for preschoolers. So that parents of preschoolers can focus on growing in Christ . We provide care for children 4 years and under.

Purpose

We at First Baptist Church are committed to providing the best possible care for our preschoolers. To ensure that they grow up knowing how much God loves them and how we as the church value them, we have established guidelines based on Luke 2:52.

Promise

All of our teachers are trained and love serving with preschoolers.

During all sessions at First Baptist Church, age appropriate curriculum is used. These areas of study include: God, Jesus, Bible, Self, Family, Church, and Others.

To ensure a learning environment, we strive to maintain the proper teacher/pupil ratio at each age level.

Each Sunday children are provided with choices and challenges allowing them to develop positively.

We strive to help each child associate God, Jesus, and the Bible with positive, happy feelings.

Our goal is to lay a positive foundation for a future relationship with Jesus for every preschooler in our care.

Safe and Sanitary

It is our responsibility to provide the safest and healthiest environment for your child.

It is essential that the sign-in-sheet be filled out completely. Please alert us to any special needs/medical conditions which require our attention. Also, indicate where you will be sitting in the Sanctuary and which Sunday School Class you attend.

For the protection of your child and other children, any child who is ill or appears ill cannot be accepted in a preschool department. Our guidelines are based on the recommendations taken from the report of the Committee on Control of Infectious Diseases of the American Academy of Pediatrics. A child should not be left when any of the following exist:

a. Fever (should be free of fever for 24 hours)
b. Vomiting and/or diarrhea
c. Any symptom of the usual childhood diseases:
Scarlet Fever, German Measles, Mumps, Chicken Pox, or Whooping cough.
d. Common cold (onset through one week)
e. Sore throat
f. Croup
g. Any unexplained rash
h. Any skin infections: boils, ringworm, impetigo
i. Pink eye and other eye infections

Teachers cannot administer medications of any kind.

We are required by Texas state law to report all cases of suspected child abuse.

* Please label all of your child’s belongings including bottle, bottle caps, pacifiers, diaper bags, blankets, coats, and sweaters. Personal items that are brought unlabeled will be labeled by your child’s teacher.
